How did you get into home design?

My journey began with Ashton Woods Homes in Orlando 11 years ago when I was hired as a Marketing Coordinator fresh out of grad school. As a fashion enthusiast, I was quickly drawn to the design aspect of the business! One of the Design Consultants at the time (now the Orlando Design Studio Manager, Blaire Woodwall) was expecting her son and preparing to go on maternity leave. I was approached to assist with Studio tasks while she was away, and it immediately became a newfound passion! The idea of helping create beautiful spaces with functional purpose was incredibly fulfilling. It was the beginning of a wonderful career I’ve enjoyed ever since.

Outside of design, what are your other hobbies and interests?

I love music! Singing has been a passion of mine since I was very young. My husband plays the guitar, so it’s not uncommon for us to enjoy acoustic evenings with wine and bites on our back porch. I also cherish family time with our 5-year-old son, who’s now really into "movie nights." As a foodie, I enjoy exploring new restaurants and indulging in unique culinary experiences. Discovering San Antonio has been quite fun since we recently relocated from Florida, and the city still feels new to us.

Where do you find creative inspiration?

Nature! The most amazing color palettes, patterns, shapes, and textures are all around us. We just need to look closely and pay attention.

What’s your favorite Ashton Woods Collection and why?

The Luxe Collection. I love how the timeless neutral finishes are complemented by the rich green shade of the cabinets. When it comes to accents, gold is my go-to. It’s elegant yet cozy—a luxurious combination!

What’s your favorite Ashton Woods model home and why?

I have two favorites! The first was the Roswell model in Laureate Park near Orlando, FL. It was the first model home I toured after joining Ashton Woods in 2013. It was a true gem that perfectly showcased Ashton Woods’ unique passion for exceptional design!

The second is the Milam model at Megan’s Landing in Castroville, TX. It’s the first model home I collaborated on as a Studio Manager here in San Antonio. We really pushed boundaries and made a deliberate effort to showcase why Ashton Woods is "The Heart of Design."

Which room in a home is your favorite to design? Why?

The primary bath. It’s often a place to recharge or unwind. I enjoy layering the right combination of patterns, colors, and textures to create a calming and rejuvenating space.

How would you describe your own personal style?

I’d describe my style as modern transitional with unexpected accents. I enjoy creating spaces that feel comfortable and inviting with a neutral color scheme. Adding unique pieces that are cohesive yet making a bold statement are what I love to do.

One of the most exciting parts of buying an Ashton Woods home is that homeowners get to personalize their design. What design advice do you have for buyers as they build their new home?

I always recommend keeping large investment selections timeless while experimenting with design trends through accents and accessories that are easy to swap out. Another helpful tip is to think about how you’ll use the space. With today’s busy lifestyles, a home should be aesthetically pleasing but also intentionally designed to make daily routines easier.
