Ashton Woods Wins Big, Earning Multiple Aurora Awards
The Southeast Building Conference and the Florida Home Builders Association recognize Ashton Woods for extraordinary home design
ATLANTA (August 11, 2016) – Ashton Woods, one of the nation’s largest private homebuilders, took home three Aurora Awards at the 35th annual Aurora Awards, held on July 29, 2016, at Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Kissimmee, Florida. Presented by the Southeast Building Conference (SEBC) and the Florida Home Builders Association (FHBA), the awards recognize outstanding leaders in the housing industry.
In the category of Best On the Boards Mixed Use Project, Ashton Woods received the Aurora Award for its Aria community currently under development in Atlanta. Located just outside the city in Sandy Springs, Aria is designed to offer an urban oasis in close proximity to the bustle of Atlanta.
We’re honored to receive recognition for Aria’s plan and design,” said Mike Busher, senior vice president of land and urban development at Ashton Woods Atlanta. “Our team is excited to bring this project to life, creating a community in harmony with the area and offering exceptionally designed homes that our buyers love.”
As the name suggests, Aria is designed to celebrate the harmonious balance of nature and city living by offering expertly crafted homes set amid greenspaces, common areas and retail shops. The Aria community will open for sale in early 2017 with lofts, townhomes and single-family homes available. The variety of residences is intended to connect a range of lifestyles in an environment that enhances everyone’s lives.
Ashton Woods also received two Aurora Awards for floor plans located in the Fiddler’s Creek community in Naples, Florida. The Tarragona home won an award in the Best Single Family Detached Home of 3,000 to 3,499 square feet category. It features a generous floor plan with a cozy, light-drenched library complemented by spa-like amenities such as an outdoor shower and rear lanai.
The Catalonia home placed in the category of Best Single Family Detached Home of 3,500 to 3,999 square feet. The home combines a historically genuine Spanish Colonial Revival design with a sophisticated interior that provides large, open spaces. The home’s courtyard design allows for both a wide array of views to the outdoors and the option for a private pool that is embraced by the two rear wings of the house.
“The Tarragona and Catalonia homes are as unique and beautiful as the community around them,” said Jay Kallos, Vice President of Architecture at Ashton Woods. “We work to create homes that encompass the personality of the homebuyer and the local area and are thrilled have our efforts recognized with these awards.”
In addition, three Ashton Woods model homes won Grand Aurora Awards for interior design, including Best Interior Merchandising of a Home under $400,000 for the Lime House Village community in Charleston, South Carolina; Best Interior Merchandising of a Home $400,000 to $500,000 for the Freeman’s Point community also in Charleston; Best Interior Merchandising of a Home $500,000 to $1,000,000 for the Cypress Creek Lakes community in Houston, Texas; The Cypress Creek Lakes community also won the Best in State Award.
