Ashton Woods Earns Grand at the Gold Nugget Awards

The Pacific Coast Builders Conference recognizes Ashton Woods in five categories for its exceptional design 

ATLANTA (June 29, 2016) – Ashton Woods, one of the nation’s largest private homebuilders, took home two Grand Awards and three Awards of Merit at the 53rd annual Gold Nugget Awards, held on June 23, 2016, at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California. Presented by the Pacific Coast Builders Conference (PCBC), the awards recognize those who improve the community through exceptional design, planning and development.

In the category of Best Single Family Detached Home of 2,000 to 2,499 square feet, Ashton Woods received the Grand Award for its Capri model home in the Naples Reserve Egret Landing community in Naples, Florida. Featuring traditional Floridian architecture with a modern twist, the Capri model impressed judges with its open floorplan and flexible design.

“We’re honored to have the Capri model home chosen for this award,” said John Reny, president of Ashton Woods Naples. “Inspired by the Italian architecture found on the island of Capri, our team worked to marry global elements with native Florida design to complement the surrounding community.”

The Capri model was designed with migratory winter residents in mind. The European style of incorporating white, grey and a hint of black into the color scheme through the use of white marble and dark wood encourages a feeling of warmth. The open floor plan also works to create flow in the home, while the indoor-outdoor living expands the overall space.

“Combining accents from the local community with a clean, coastal exterior and a modern interior, the Capri model creates an inviting home away from home,” said Valerio Muraro, director of design at Ashton Woods. “The three sets of doors leading from the great room to the covered outdoor area add an extension to the home and connect it with the natural surroundings, including a 125-acre lake.”

Ashton Woods also received the Grand Award for Best Single Family Detached Home of 3,500 to 3,999 square feet for its Catalonia model home in the Fiddler’s Creek community in Naples. The Catalonia model displays an expert understanding of Spanish Colonial Revival exterior design while embracing the architectural heritage of historic Naples. Each room has access to the outdoors to take advantage of the community’s location near a spectacular golf course and beautiful waterways.

In addition, Ashton Woods took home the Award of Merit in three categories including Best Single Family Detached Home of 2,000 to 2,4999 square feet for the Summerside model home in the Freeman’s Point community in James Island, South Carolina, Best Single Family Detached Home of 2,500 to 2,999 square feet for the Minorca model home in the Naples Reserve Sparrow Cay community in Naples, Florida, and Best Single Family Detached Home of over 5,000 square feet for the Oxford model home in the Heritage at Dunwoody community in Dunwoody, Georgia.
